I thought this infographic was important to share. It’s enlightening and a little scary to see how advertisers target our children. Good to be aware of this and help your children understand the tactics advertisers use.
Wow! Thanks so much for posting this! I, too, am very concerned about the amount of time children spend with new technologies. Don't get me wrong – I love it, too, and my school children love using our Smartboard and working at our computer center.
My main concern is that it is robbing our children of the sleep they need. The CDC, as I'm sure you know, has called Sleep Deprivation an epidemic in this country, and part of the reason is that they are texting and using other technologies late into the night.
Every parent needs to know that just because the lights are out doesn't mean their children are asleep!
Thanks for your wonderful blog. It is refreshing to hear from such an informed parent who is guided by research!

P.S. I read your article on summer learning activities, too, and I agree wholeheartedly. I am so concerned about Summer Reading Loss that I just added four new pages for parents with Car Games and more to help prevent "Summer Slide."
